Wednesday, December 5 NBA Picks and Predictions
Philadelphia 76ers +6 vs Toronto Raptors
The last time the Sixers visited Toronto, the Raptors spanked them 129-112. Simmons was kept in check. Embiid did all he could pouring in 31 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Raptors had a balanced scoring attack from both starters and benches.
This time is gonna be different. Jimmy Butler has join the team and has elevated them, burying game winners like it was going out of style. If the Sixers want to get to the finals, Toronto may be their only obstacle. They need to prove they can hang with the Raptors.
Toronto has been strong to say the least. Boasting the best record in the NBA, there’s no doubt the Raptors are a top 5 team in the league. Unfortunately they lost their last game against the Nuggets. Although the calls that led to their defeat were suspect, the Raptors have a downtrend with the loss. Against superior teams, the Raptors could easily lose on an off night. On the other hand Philly is looking forward to the future and hungry to prove their new found prowess.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Butler leads them to the outright win, but given a gift of 6 points the call is on the 76ers. Philly will come into Toronto looking to make a statement.
Wizards -5.5 vs Hawks
Atlanta is not going anywhere this season. Trae Young was thrown into the fire playing starter on a bad and inexperienced team. Wizards have had their ups and downs, but at least they are playing better coming off a 2 game win streak. They should get the 3rd win and cover against a short handed awful Hawks team.
Thunder -7 vs Nets
Thunder are on a roll. They are playing strong with good defence. Westbrook is getting back to his triple doubles so all are good signs pointing to at least a 10 point win over the injury riddled Nets. The Nets were doing okay, but their team has been decimated.
